The Board of Elders

The role of the Board of Elders is to be the primary governing group of the church, responsible in providing spiritual oversight and ensuring the ongoing health and growth of the church and its ministries. While the day-to-day operation of the church is handled by the Executive Minister, the Pastoral Team, and the staff, the Board of Elders holds the Executive Minister accountable and gives attention to the overall vision, direction and health of the church.

Hon. Bernard E. Al-ag

Bernard or Bernie has been with DCAGC since 2000. He is actively involved in the Maturity Department as a C.L.A.S.S. teacher. He and his wife Cherry also lead the Homebuilder’s Group.

Doc Bernie also preaches in our 3rd worship service. He is a graduate of Doctor of Optometry and holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration. He works as Councilor in the third district of Davao City.

Engr. Roderick Dayot

Ricky has been with DCAGC since he was a child and it was here at DCAGC where he met his wife, the former Ms. Joy Pernes. Ricky’s father was a former deacon of DCAGC while his mother is an active Senior Citizens’ Member and was a former teacher at our Compassion Ministry.

Ricky is a Mechanical Engineer by profession. As an inventor at the young age of 37, he already has patents under his name – one of which is the Apparatus for Treating solid waste, Phil. Patent No. 2009-000162.

Engr. Ariel C. Galiza

Ariel has been with DCAGC since 2002 and an Elder since 2007. He is a graduate of Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering. He was formerly a government employee and is currently the head of the Relief and Development Services of the Missions Department. He is married to Teresita with one child.

Engr. Manuel R. Lao

Manuel or Jack has been part of the church Eldership team since 2005 and has been attending church at DCAGC since 1982. He is a graduate of Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and is currently working at M.A Foundry Inc. as Assistant Manager. He is married to Lilian with two children.

Mr. Jessie T. Ponce

Jessie has been with DCAGC since his college years. His wife Cynthia has been the core leader of DCAGC Alliance Women. Jesse serves as the Strategic Planning Facilitator of DCAGC and the CAMACOP National. He works as an international consultant under the United Nations. His professional experience includes short to medium term consulting engagement in social planning; development and management; social protection/social welfare, and rural community development. He holds a Masters in Business Administration at Ateneo de Manila University.

Mr. Benjamin F. Valdellon

“Kuya” Ben was a member of the DCAGC Board of Elders from 1997-2005. He worked as the Project Director of DCAGC Child Development Program of Compassion International from 2003-2008 and was the DCAGC Admin Department Head from 2007-2012. He finished AB Political Science at the University of Mindanao and took up graduate studies in Law Education at Ateneo de Davao University.

Mr. Peter O. Yu

Peter Yu has been part of the church Eldership team since 2007 and an active member of the church for a couple of years now. A businessman who is married to Fe, with five children.
